To make friends with death and cut one’s tethers—yes. I had an image of a hot air balloon as the weights are tossed over and the ropes untied. I recently watched my 98 year old mother cling to life until it was torn from her (or her from it) and swore to exit with more acceptance. Thank you for this.
Juana was with Emilia in the hospital and said that as Emilia was taking her last breaths, she was smiling...
