Wonderful poem. So true that younger people stop "seeing" those of us who are older. In case some of you haven't read it, you might also enjoy James Hillman's book "The Force of Character" that takes a sharp and deep look at the experience of older people. Hillman wrote "The Soul's Code."
i love this. our old bodies and souls have lived a great deal of experiences; we musn't forget that. after a 2 week hospital stay of being a body for some, and a woman who has survived a serious illness with emergency surgery, it's hard to admit when I am not at my best. and small reminders of gratitude are getting me through.
