I owe you an explanation, subscribers, paid subscribers and visitors to my page.
There’s more to me than growing old inquisitively.
Therefore, there are several themes I’m exploring in my posts.
Coming of Aging, which has several subthemes
The alchemy of making peace with the past. Facing the tough stuff, making amends, forgiving them/self/it/it-all, openness to mystery of what’s next.
Ageism, including all the assumptions about identity, worth, activity, health, desires, body image and on and on and on that we metabolize along the way.
Aging, sickness and death - the spiritual aspect.
Freedom… and Limits
relevant ideas from an unpublished book Rethinking Freedom in a World With Limits. My dream was to have Americans fall in love with limits the way we’ve fallen in love with freedom… because we are hitting the limits of the old story of America and the longer story of colonialism, patriarchy, earth-as-Christmas stocking.
Coming of Aging for Empire, as I wrote in one post.
thinking tools, reframes, and stories to help you parse WTF is going on.
Relocalization/Community Resilience
Tools, strategies, ideas, lessons about thriving at a local level.

Poetry
Money… sometimes. After 20 years representing Your Money or Your Life, I sometimes want to write about how the 9-step program can help us now.
The topic of the day or week comes in meditation, and then I try to craft a evocative or provocative or at least useful post.
Coming of Aging is my central focus, but the others come to the fore as meditation or events suggest.
Finally, a gift for paid subscribers!
Because writing has been my way to healing the past and self-liberation, I want to offer paid subscribers, exclusively, a weekly 1-hour meditation and writing opportunity.
If you are a paid subscriber, the first 4 weeks will be free so we can both test it out and tweak it. After that, I’ll put out a tip jar.
I’ll send you an email with further instructions on signing up.
Free subscribers will be able to join for a reasonable fee.
OK, now I feel free-er to follow my fascinations as inner and outer conditions change.
I love that you are free to express all the dimensions of yourself and your journey on your Substack. Artistic freedom!
Thank you for sharing these important considerations
